Patterns and Balls

The middle section of the screen is where all the exciting ball action takes place. The ball ejector is at the top and as ‘play’ is pressed, 30 balls are released and cascade down into the checking area. As each brightly coloured ball drops, any numbers on the tickets that match them are automatically crossed off.  There are 12 different ways to win when matching balls to tickets and these are shown under the check area. A full house for bingo is the high paying pattern and if activated, the jackpot will also payout.

To activate the jackpot, players will have to have all 4 tickets in play and a bet at 3 or more credits on each card. If a win is close to paying out when all 30 balls have been expelled, extra balls can be paid for with more credits to help complete it. There are up to 10 extra balls and all have a variety of prices; usually the high prizes will incur the higher price ball. If a free spin is awarded, additional balls can become available but these will have to be bought as extras.

What is nice about this game is that there is so much happening on the screen as the balls drop, the information needed to play is on the screen to be seen. All the displays, messages and meters keep players informed, although it would be nice to see the credit balance and total bet meters given a bit more prominence.

If there is a one real big down side to the game, it has to be the sound effects. Initially there is a little introduction tune as the game loads which, although it sounds a little 70s, has lyrics to tell you it’s ‘Cupids Bingo’ and it’s ok. The sound effects on the game play can get a little chaotic as they overlap each other. Playing on turbo speeds may have you clambering for the sound settings to turn it off. Nevertheless, there is no denying the tokens of love from Cupid even if he is a little tone deaf. He likes to showers with gifts of solid prizes as he fires those bingo arrows.
