Black Final Slots

Upon loading this game, you may feel slightly confused as to what’s going on, for the title looks to say CEO when in fact you know you’ve clicked to play Black Final. No you haven’t gone mad, it just seems to be a design flaw that 777igt overlooked before releasing the title; it had us in a pickle too. 

Funnily enough, this isn’t the first time the brand has done this, as Diamond is very similar in both aesthetic and unusual title placement, which essentially makes them sister slot machines. Although that probably wasn’t the original intention, the fact that these two are so similar means that players who love one will undoubtedly enjoy the other. 

Everything about this 5-reel and 25-winline slot is very traditional, the iconography being one of the biggest telltale signs of classic stylings. Gold and diamond icons have been around in slot machines for as many years as cherries and BAR tiles. They’re almost as iconic as the game itself. 

Black and Gold

Sometimes low key, minimalist titles can lack impact, the eye never drawn to any particular feature and so the grid becomes a mess of failed graphics, but that doesn’t happen here. With Black Final the striking black and gold actually makes for a diverse and riveting setting, which in turn inspires you to play. 

There’s no denying that the smoothness of this title is a disappointment, the pixelated imagery making it look like a very old game, possibly dating back to the mid 1990s, but that’s the only real issue with its appearance. It’s meant to be an old school title, and so minor problems such as those become forgotten and said to be part of its charm. Whether you agree with that or not, it’s a clever way for the brand to get away with a low quality finish. 

Diamonds in the Sky

Everywhere you look there’s a diamond, it’s part of the card value tiles, framing the spin widget, lining the 3×5 grid, and covering every square inch of the wild symbol. Anywhere that a diamond can be fitted, 777igt has managed to place one. The idea that diamonds are only a girls’ best friend seems inherently wrong when you play Black Final. 

The problem with relying on such repetitive icons doesn’t come into play until you start making combinations; after that a lot of confusion can arise about what’s been won and what hasn’t. When the wild uses the same dollar sign as the free spins, you know you’re going to constantly need the paytable open when playing along. 

Seeing as we’re on the topic of the wild, let’s take a look at what this encrusted currency sign can do; when in a group of three, four or five, it can sub other icons and pay out x150. This may sound rather boring, but the wild actually appears quite a lot throughout a game, which means you really feel the benefits when it shows up. 

The only tile that may be better than this is the free spins, and that’s only because it can give you some extra rounds without having to pay more cash. Between 5 and 15 of them can be triggered, though it doesn’t appear that they can be re-activated, and so the feature is rather short lived. There is a bonus game we could go into great detail about, but the mini level of Black Final is best experienced first hand… which is code for saying that it never triggered for us. If you manage to get it, you have our awe and envy in equal measure. 

Black Is Back

As black never goes out of fashion, it’s doubtful that Black Final will ever lose its appeal. It looks great and has a considerable amount of bonuses to keep the magic alive. And despite how much we’ve pulled the game apart, it isn’t as bad as some slot machines we've experienced. 

The biggest problem you’re going to have here is no innovation or respite from the same trusted 777igt format. When it feels like the brand has stopped trying, it makes us wonder why we should even bother; no game should make you feel like that.
