Philadelphia Eagles Odds

eagles odds

There aren’t too many league championships to highlight over the past 87 years of the Philadelphia Eagles’ existence but there is a passionate nationwide fanbase, and a good bunch of them reside in New Jersey.

Many of them are likely still talking about how Philly made it back to the Super Bowl for the first time since the 2017 season. The Birds ended up losing 38-35 to the Kansas City Chiefs.

They finished the 2022 regular season with a NFC best 14-3 record. Those who took the over 9.5 wins cashed winning tickets.

This Philadelphia Eagles betting page provides a rundown of what to expect this NFL season, including:

  • This week’s best Eagles odds
  • Eagles Super Bowl odds and player props
  • Eagles schedule, key games, starters, betting trends and more

Eagles Betting Lines

In the days leading up to Eagles games, there will be plenty of chatter about which the way the game is likely to swing. Sportsbooks enter the debate by releasing odds for each game early in the week and adjust as the money comes in. Here’s an example of an Eagles betting line you may see:

  • New York Giants +155 +3.5 (-110) O 50.5 (-110)
  • Philadelphia Eagles -175 -3.5 (-110) U 50.5 (-110)

From left to right next to the Eagles and Giants are the odds and lines for the following: moneyline, spread, and totals. All three bets will be heavily bet for each NFL game all season long. Let’s take a closer look at what you need to know about these ways to wager.

Eagles Moneyline

Moneyline betting is very straightforward as it’s all about winners and losers. Just click on the odds for which side you think will win, add in your wager amount, and click submit.

  • New York Giants +155
  • Philadelphia Eagles -175

While simple to place, that doesn’t mean that it’s easy to win on the moneyline as anything can happen in the NFL. Over the course of a season, favorites and dogs will both win their fair share.

Eagles Point Spread

For spread betting, you can pick the favorite minus the points or the underdog plus the number. In order to win the wager, the side you select has to cover the spread.

  • New York Giants +3.5 (-110)
  • Philadelphia Eagles -3.5 (-110)

In this fictitious matchup, the Eagles would have to win by four points or more to cover, while the Giants can do so by keeping the margin to a field goal or less or by winning the game outright.

Eagles Over/Under (Totals)

Also known as totals betting, oddsmakers set the bar with an estimated number of points scored in the game. Bettors then get to make the call on Over or Under that amount.

  • Over 50.5 (-110)
  • Under 50.5 (-110)

When scrolling through the weekly slate, totals odds give you a quick glimpse into what kind of game oddsmakers are expecting: defensive, offensive, or somewhere in between.

How to bet on Eagles props and futures

NFL betting is about much more than whether or not the Philadelphia Eagles come out on the winning side of the moneyline or covering the over. These are the basics.

Props and futures add an extra layer of excitement to the NJ sports betting experience.

Eagles futures odds

Sure, Eagles’ bettors will likely immediately jump to the Super Bowl market (or futures). The odds will shift throughout the season, so finding the best value is key. For example, the Birds +2000 will result in a bigger payout than say +800.

And the options expand far beyond which team will win the Big Game. Wagers linked to the outcome of a future sporting event fall under the futures category. Here are some of the NFL futures available at NJ sportsbooks:

  • Eagles’ total wins
  • Will Philadelphia make the playoffs?
  • NFC champion

Eagles Props

Another option is putting some cash down on what a particular player will do in a specific game or season. These are known as player props, and sportsbooks roll out extensive offerings.

For instance, let’s say you sign into your DraftKings Sportsbook account. As the season gets closer, the NFL menu will include a page of options, from team futures to player futures and props and beyond.

Here are a few examples of player props:

  • Jalen Hurts passing yards
  • DeVonta Smith receiving yards
  • Regular season MVP

Eagles vs. Cowboys rivalry

The Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys is one of the greatest rivalries in all of pro sports. It’s such a big deal whenever these two teams meet that South Jersey and the Philadelphia area refer to it as Dallas Week.

And for good reason. Check out this list of top 10 memorable moments in the Eagles-Cowboys rivalry.

The two franchises are constantly battling it out for NFC East bragging rights. Over four of the last five seasons alone, the two teams have alternated as division champs, with the Eagles claiming the most recent crown in 2019-20.

The teams split the two meetings in 2022.

Overall, this is a rivalry that dates back to the 1960 season. For the trivia buffs out there, the Birds won that meeting 27-25. Philly went on to win the NFL championship that season (before the Super Bowl was a thing).

In total, the Eagles and Cowboys have played each other 124 times, with Dallas holding a 73-55 advantage.

The television networks are well aware of the nationwide following these two storied franchises have, as at least one meeting every season makes the primetime TV schedule. This year it’s Monday Night Football on Sep. 27th.

Philadelphia Eagles FAQ

One. The Birds have made four appearances, but Super Bowl 52 in 2018 marks the one-and-only time the franchise raised the Vince Lombardi Trophy. Let’s just say it was a Philly Special in more ways than one.

Before the Super Bowl, however, the Philadelphia Eagles won three NFL championships in 1948, 1949, and 1960.

Jalen Hurts is the starting QB and has risen to NFL MVP status.

Hurts was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2020 NFL draft. In 45 career starts, he’s 23-11, throwing for 7,906 passing yards with 44 touchdowns to 19 interceptions. He also has 1,8988 rushing yards and 26 touchdowns.

Wide receiver Vince Papale made the Eagles roster after new head coach Dick Vermeil held an open tryout in 1976. He went on to play from 1976 to 1978 as wide receiver and special teams.

In 2006, the Disney movie Invincible was released and based loosely on Papale’s story. Mark Wahlberg played the role of Papale while Greg Kinnear played the role of Vermeil.
