The 2022 NFL season is officially underway and there are plenty of great ways for those within the New Jersey sports betting market to enjoy the games. While watching them at the Atlantic City sportsbooks might be ideal, the NJ racetracks also deliver a great atmosphere for NFL and college football bettors.
Since many aren’t in range to consistently visit AC, the three Garden State racetracks and their sportsbooks provide a convenient alternative.
The two biggest tracks in the state that attract the most attention remain the Meadowlands Racetrack and Monmouth Park. Both feature a great retail sportsbook that become quality destinations to watch and bet on the NFL.
There’s another option, as well, with the Freehold Raceway near the central part of the state.
As the opening NFL Sunday is about to start up, let’s take a closer look at each of the NJ racetracks.
How to watch the NFL at NJ racetracks
Enjoying NFL betting through the state’s online sports betting apps is great, but they don’t supply the excitement the retail books do.
There is nothing quite like game day at NJ sportsbooks. Between the energy from the guests and an incredible view of just about every game, they include everything NFL fans need.
Here is what to expect when visiting NJ racetracks this fall to enjoy some football.
Meadowlands Racing and Entertainment
The Meadowlands Racetrack is one of the best locations in the entire state to take in a variety of sports. Located just across from the New York Giants and Jets’ home in MetLife Stadium, the venue offers a FanDuel Sportsbook to conduct all your NFL betting.
As one of the largest land-based sportsbooks in the state, the 5,310-sqaure-foot area highlights more than enough ways to please its guests. The book includes 57 TV displays with seating available for 207 people.
There is certainly no shortage of ways to place a bet, either. The Meadowlands’ brick-and-mortar FanDuel showcases 55 different betting kiosks so there’s never a long wait to get your action down.
The East Rutherford sportsbook opens every Sunday at 8 a.m. and doesn’t close until midnight.
Besides just betting and watching the football, fans can enjoy lots of various food and beverage inside the Victory Sports Bar and Club.
The Meadowlands offers free parking on days MetLife Stadium isn’t hosting an event.
Monmouth Park
Another great option in NJ is Monmouth Park, located down in Oceanport. The horse track also comes equipped with a solid land-based betting destination with its Caesars Sportsbook.
NFL fans attend the park in masses during the football season to take in the games with friends and family. The Caesars Sportsbook is positioned on the first floor of the grandstand.
Inside, bettors find an abundance of displays with more than 100 HD TVs, along with a 75-foot video wall. This isn’t the only place to watch every NFL tilt within Monmouth Park, though.
There is also the Caesars Sports Bar, that features lots of food and drink choices, on top of an additional 50 HD TVs. This way, fans don’t miss a second of the NFL action even when they dine.
Monmouth’s Caesars Sportsbook opens its doors at 9 a.m. on Sundays and remains that way until midnight.
Freehold Raceway
Although the Freehold Raceway’s sports betting establishment isn’t as sizable as the other New Jersey racetracks, it still gets the job done. It hosts NFL Sundays at its Parx Sportsbook.
Its sports betting lounge opened in Sept. 2020 to expand beyond just live and simulcast horse racing. The Parx Sportsbook at Freehold Raceway begins accepting bets at 10 a.m. on Sundays. It also provides free admission and free parking throughout the season.
