Remember those late nights of playing Space Invaders on Atari? Yes, we are referring to what sounds like the stone age of video gaming systems.
However, classics like Space Invaders have a long shelf life. Clearly, the video game is still going strong as BetMGM sent out a Wednesday press release announcing, you guessed it, Space Invaders as its newest mobile and online slot game. The title is available exclusively to Garden State gamblers via the BetMGM, Borgata and Party online casino platforms.
Developed by Inspired Entertainment, the plan is to roll out the slot in other online casino markets later this year.
BetMGM has a strategic partnership with Inspired, and it includes exclusive rights to the game.
New Jersey first to get ‘legendary’ Space Invaders online slot
The announcement is taking some NJ online casino players on a trip down memory lane. Yes, from decades ago.
Oliver Bartlett, director of gaming, BetMGM, said “Since 1978, gamers have loved Space Invaders in arcades and through home consoles.”
“Inspired has produced a phenomenal slot game here, and BetMGM is excited to bring this legendary title to its players in New Jersey, then on to more states in the near future.”
As far as special features and bonuses go, Claire Osborne, vice president of Interactive, Inspired shared some insight.
“Space Invaders is a fun and exciting slot that features vibrant, nostalgic graphics, enhanced game modifiers, six bonus rounds, a bonus gamble and more, to give players a chance at winning big bonuses and mystery cash prizes,” said Osborne. “We are thrilled to be partnering with BetMGM exclusively for a month in New Jersey to bring the highly anticipated North American launch of Space Invaders to their thriving player base.”
The BetMGM version, complete with an arcade-like vibe, has a 5×3 reel configuration with 20-win lines.
BetMGM continues expanding exclusive games library
From a BetMGM online casino perspective, Space Invaders is the newest title being added to a constantly growing list of exclusive games. Other exclusive online slots include:
